Round quartz sand is broken and rounded by natural quartz, with high Mohs hardness, round particles without sharp corners and flaky particles, high purity without impurities, high silicon content and high fire resistance.
The appearance is colorless transparent block, granule or white powder. PH value: 6.0; Quartz stone can be used to make glass, refractories, smelting ferrosilicon, metallurgical fluxes, ceramics, abrasives, and castings. Quartz stone is used in buildings to make acid resistant concrete and acid resistant mortar because of its strong corrosion resistance to acid media.
Application field of round quartz sand
1、 Epoxy flooring: As an epoxy flooring material, round quartz sand has the characteristics of high compression resistance, Mohs hardness of 7, round particles without sharp corners, and flake particles that reduce resin addition and save costs, and is an ideal material for epoxy flooring.
2、 Filtration: As a filter material, the round quartz sand has the characteristics of no impurities, no angle correction, high density, large and even accumulation gap, high mechanical strength, and long service life of the pollution carrying capacity line, and is an ideal material for chemical water treatment. Quartz sand filter material plays a filtering role, just like water seeps into the ground through sand and gravel, blocking those suspended substances in the water, mainly targeting those fine suspended substances. Application of quartz sand as filter material: quartz sand is combined with filter container to intercept particle impurities such as suspended solids colloid in water, so as to play a filtering role. If it is used in sewage treatment, ordinary quartz sand is generally used. It can be used for three to five years, as long as the quartz sand is prevented from losing. It does not matter if it is polluted, because in sewage treatment, the sludge can carry out aerobic or anaerobic respiration to degrade pollutants in sewage. If it is used in pure water treatment, refined quartz sand is mostly used. In the sand filter, it usually needs to be replaced within 2 to 3 years. Generally, after being polluted, the quartz sand wrapped by pollutants can no longer play a very good filtering role, and can only be replaced.
3、 Refractory material: As a refractory material, the round quartz sand has good fluidity, high refractoriness, less impurities and high purity.
Characteristics and uses of natural round sand:
Natural round sand is also widely used in children's playgrounds, children's sand pools and large amusement parks.
Round grained quartz sand and fracturing sand are made by screening, processing and purifying natural silica sand. They are characterized by good sphericity, high compressive strength, low crushing rate and strong conductivity, and are used for downhole operations in oil fields.
(1) The particle size of fracturing sand is uniform. Uniform particle size of proppant can improve the pressure bearing capacity and permeability of proppant. The diameter of proppant currently used is mostly 0.42~0.84mm (40~20 mesh), sometimes a small amount of 0.84~2mm (20~10 mesh).
(2) High strength. The strength of proppant varies with its composition. The higher the strength, the greater the pressure bearing capacity.
(3) Less impurities. Impurities in fracturing sand refer to carbonate, feldspar, iron oxide, clay and other minerals mixed in the sand. Generally, acid solubility is used to measure the content of carbonate, feldspar and iron oxide in fracturing sand; Turbidity is used to measure the content of clay, silt or inorganic particles in fracturing sand.
(4) The roundness of sand is better. The sphericity of sand refers to the degree to which the sand is similar to the sphere, and the roundness represents the relative sharpness of the grain edges. When the proppant particles are round and roughly the same size, the stress distribution on the particles is relatively uniform, and the load that can be borne is relatively large.
(5) Low density. If the density is large, it is difficult to suspend in fracturing fluid and fill in fractures.
